Associate Professor Rachel Freudenburg directed a documentary film on Nazi opposition leader Fereya von Molteke, a German Resistance fighter.
Professor Daniel Bowles has won the 2016 Helen und Kurt-Wolff-Preis award, an annual prize honoring an exceptional literary translation of a German work published in the United States in English. Professor Bowles was given the award for the outstanding literary translation of the book "Imperium" by Christian Kracht.
Geraldine Grimm was the recipient of The Affordable Course Materials Initiative Grant of Spring 2015. The award resulted in the design of the zero-cost materials intermediate German courses, German 50 and 51, which she is currently teaching.
