Academic Interests:
Father Blake teaches courses in American film history and criticism and is co-director of the film studies program. Although primarily a film historian, he continues to review recent films for America magazine, a national journal of opinion. Much of his research and writing has centered around religious themes and imagery in mainstream film making. Currently he is working on images of New York City in American films.
