About this Film:  "The Imported Bridegroom" is a story about a young woman in turn-of-the century Boston whose father goes back to the Old Country to find her a bridegroom. Based on the story of the same name by Abraham Cahan, the film had its internationaldebut at the Montreal Film Festival in 1989, and opened in New York in June, 1990. The DVD is distributed by the National Center for Jewish Film. "The Imported Bridegroom" is a recipient of the Dove Award for wholesome family entertainment. The film was chosen to be part of the Revson Jewish Heritage video collection and was featured in it Heritage curriculum.
