The Urban Ecology Institute studies the emerging field of urban ecology to help residents in the Greater Boston area understand the natural resources in their communitites and take action to protect them. They are scientists, educators and attorneys who research urban ecosystems, provide information to urban residents and policymakers and work with the public schools to protect and restore urban natural resources before they are lost forever. UEI shares models for community ecosystem transformation and urban ecology field studies programs with partners in the Urban Ecology Collaborative. |
The USRLG is an interdisciplinary community of scholars dedicated to uniting the fields of science and education in urban environments. Through collaboration with partners, service to the communities with which they work and dissemination of their research they work towards empowering and transforming urban schools. | |

The purpose of the Urban Ecology Collaborative (UEC) is to cultivate healthy, safe and vibrant cities through collective learning and united action. The UEC is a partnership of universities, non-profit organizations, and state, local and federal officials working in cities in the Eastern United States. Participating cities currently include Boston, New Haven, New York City, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. | |
