Full-time Tenure-Track Position

The Department of Computer Science at Boston College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting September 2017. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline, a research trajectory that suggests promise in attracting and maintaining external funding, and a commitment to quality in undergraduate teaching. Outstanding candidates in all research areas will be considered. However, we will focus primarily on the umbrella areas of systems (e.g., parallel and distributed computing, operating systems, sensor networks) and AI / machine learning (e.g., natural language processing, robotics, vision, data analytics). An interest in collaborating across disciplinary boundaries to address issues of broader scientific and social importance would be highly desirable.

We will begin reviewing applications on October 15, 2016, and will continue considering applications until the position is filled. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and separate research and teaching statements to apply.interfolio.com/37623. In addition, please arrange for three confidential letters of recommendation to be uploaded separately.

Women and members of other groups that are underrepresented in computer science are strongly encouraged to apply.
