Carolyn Cunningham

Carolyn Cunningham (Ph.D. University of Texas at Austin) joins the Communication Department at Boston College as Visiting Assistant Professor. She is teaching Survey of Mass Communication and Mass Communication Theory.

Dr. Cunningham’s research interests include the social impacts of new media, with a particular focus on race, class, and gender. Her dissertation, titled "Technological Learning After-School" examined how technological literacy was conceptualized, implemented, and received in informal media education programs aimed at bridging the digital divide for low-income and female youth.
