Dr. William Stanwood, Adjunct Associate Professor (BS, Ithaca College; M.Ed, Boston University, Ed.D, Boston University), was hired by Boston College in 1976 to create the department's first studio television production course. Since that time, he has designed and taught almost all of the Communication Department's TV courses. He currently teaches courses in television and electronic media studies in addition to TV production classes.

Dr. Stanwood is also director of the Communication department’s Media Lab and advises the department on technology issues. He is a member of the Broadcast Education Association and the University Film and Video Association.
