James Olufowote, Ph.D.

James O. Olufowote (B.S. Ithaca College, M.A. Michigan State University, Ph.D. Purdue University) joined Boston College in 2005. His primary area of interest is organizational communication; he has added interests in health communication and research methods.

His research, taking place in workplace and health care contexts, lies at the intersection of (a) the roles and uses of power and (b) communication and participation in decision making. His most recent research focuses on informed consent to treatment.

His published articles can be found in journals such as Management Communication Quarterly, Western Journal of Communication, and Health Communication. His courses include Research Methods and Organizational Communication.
