The Communication Department is located in 21 Campanella Way, a 155,000 square foot building on the hillside east of O'Neill Library that was finished in 2002. This building houses five academic departments including Communication (fifth floor), Economics and History (fourth floor), and Philosophy and Theology (third floor). 21 Campanella Way is also home to the popular Hillside Cafe (first floor), an intimate dining facility featuring speciality sandwiches and gourmet coffee.
While all faculty and administrative offices are housed in 21 Campanella Way, the department has a variety of facilities spread across the main campus:
- The Media Lab is located in Lyons Hall 215 and features nine editing suites and a recording studio. While a variety of software is available, the department's production curriculum is based on Avid Pro Tools and Apple Final Cut Pro.
- Video production courses are taught in a three camera television studio maintained by Media Technology Services in Campion Hall.
- Digital media and journalism classes are taught in O'Neill 246, the department's computer-equipped classroom.
- The Communication Research Lab is located in Service Building 109.
