Application due date: 15 March 2010

The Chemistry Department at Boston College has summer research fellowships available for college students finishing their sophomore and junior years who are under-represented in professions related to chemical sciences. These under-represented groups include persons with disabilities; those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds; and persons from racial and ethnic groups that are underrepresented in the chemical sciences. The stipend is $4,000 for 10 weeks during the summer with a flexible start date.

The program will provide an opportunity for undergraduate students to work in any of our faculty research laboratories along with Boston College undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Applicants will be selected based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, including their academic record, experience, and personal background.

Professor Jeong-Long Lin, a visionary physical chemist, served as Chair of the Chemistry Department at Boston College during a pivotal period in the department’s history.
