Graduation


Boston College has three graduations each year: May, December, and August.
For information on submission of a dissertation, refer to the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences website.


Forms Available in the Chemistry Department:

Final Examination and Public Defense of Doctoral Dissertation (Office of Student Services)

Doctoral Comprehensive Examination Report — signed at 2nd year oral exam (Office of Student Services)

Master's Degree Option (GSAS)

Master's Comprehensive Examination Report — signed at thesis defense (Office of Student Services)

Placement Survey (Ms. Dale L. Mahoney, Merkert 125G)

Graduation due dates are set by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (not the Chemistry Department), and they are strictly upheld. Please double-check each due date with the Graduate School.  


For December, 2011 Graduation

December 1, 2011 - Last date for master's and doctoral candidates to turn in signed and approved copies of theses and dissertations for December graduation

For May, 2012 Graduation

January 25, 2012 - Last date for all students who plan to graduate in May to verify diploma name online
April 2, 2012 - Last date for master's and doctoral candidates to turn in signed and approved copies of theses and dissertations for May graduation
May 21, 2012 - Commencement
