In order to ensure smooth and timely submissions, please follow the outlined submission process. As most submission are now electronic, these timelines become ever more important to allow Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) five business days to review and complete the final submission.
Grant Proposal and Award Administrator's (GPAA) Responsibilities
- One month prior to deadline
- Meet with Principal Investigator (PI) to discuss budget.
- If applicable, work with subcontractors to obtain necessary documents.
- Two weeks prior to deadline
- Provide complete budget to PI.
- Prepare proposal transmittal form and conflict of interest forms.
- Review application for compliance with BC and agency regulations.
- Seven business days prior to deadline
- Upload all administrative documents, if provided by PI.
- Obtain any additional signatures--Dean, VP for Research.
- Five business days prior to deadline
- If submitted electronically, deliver completed application to OSP for final review and submission.
- If paper submission, copy and mail application after OSP review.
Principal Investigator’s Responsibilities
- As soon as possible
- Inform GPAA of upcoming submissions and provide links to guidelines or program announcement.
- Provide contact information of any personnel who will be subcontractors on the proposal.
- One month prior to deadline
- Meet with GPAA to discuss budget and proposal transmittal form.
- Two weeks prior to deadline
- Sign proposal transmittal form and obtain department chair’s signature.
- Seven business days prior to deadline
- Deliver any remaining application materials (with at least rough science) to GPAA to obtain necessary signatures. This must include all administrative components, such as letters of support, safety documentation, etc., as required by grantor.
- Five business days prior to deadline
- Provide final science for submission to OSP.
