Professor LaCombe has been teaching in the Carroll School of Management since 2001. She majored in accounting and began her professional career at Coopers & Lybrand after graduating in 1990 from Boston College. She was also a member of the women’s basketball team at Boston College and was chosen as the Heights Athletic Achievement Award recipient, which was presented to the top scholar-athlete in the graduating class by the student newspaper. The first course Professor LaCombe taught in 2001 was financial accounting. Since that fall, she has taught both full-time and part time in the Accounting department and in the Portico program. She loves teaching freshmen in the Portico program, but is relishing the opportunity to continue that conversation with seniors in the Capstone program. This past fall she was chosen to give her “Last Lecture” and it changed her life so profoundly that it inspired the creation of this Capstone course.
