Professor Ann Marie Barry serves as Assistant Director of the Capstone Program and as Associate Professor of Communication.

Barry's multi-disciplinary background and advanced degrees include the fields of marketing communication, American literature and film, and perceptual psychology. Her research interests range from graphic design through visual neuropsychology, and she teaches courses in Visual Communication Theory, Visual Design, and Conflict and Decision.

She has been honored with the Distinguished Research Award of the International Visual Literacy Association, the National Communication Association Visual Commission Award for Excellence in Research, and an NBC/Carnegie Institute National Teacher's Award for work in media education. And, in 2005, Harvard University Graduate School of Education gave Barry special recognition as "a quiet guiding force" who has encouraged students to "explore the world in new ways."
