NanoDrop Spectrophotometer

The Thermo Scientific NanoDrop 2000c is the only spectrophotometer that combines micro-volume pedestal technology and cuvette capability. The hallmarks are long wavelength range (190–840 nm), small sample volume (as low as 0.5 μl), which is ideal for precious high concentration samples and wide concentration measurement range (2.0 to 15,000 ng/μl for dsDNA), which eliminates the need to dilute highly concentrated samples. The NanoDrop can be applied for proteins with low wavelength absorbance, such as peptides at 205 nm. The pedestal utilizes a unique technology that allows a sample to be pipetted directly onto an optical measurement surface. The system uses inherent surface tension to hold a micro-volume sample in place during the measurement cycle. Measurement times are less than five seconds. Once the measurement is complete, the surfaces are simply wiped with a lint-free lab wipe.

Cuvette capability allows for kinetics (time or time/temperature studies) and cell culture (OD 600) measurements.
