This is a compact, laser-based scanning instrument. The Personal Densitometer SI can scan films, wet gels, dry gels, and blots. It is connected to an Apple Macintosh computer containing image analysis software and Scanner Control software.
With the Personal Densitometer SI one can:

scan a full 20x25 sample in six minutes using 100µ resolution or in 15 minutes using 50µ resolution

use image analysis software to analyze and manipulate the data generated by the scans

create image files that can be transferred to compatible graphics programs on Macintosh and Windows.
