The Smith Family New Investigator Awards Program has awarded Assistant Professor M.-J. Gubbels a prestigious grant. The Smith Family Program supports promising young scientists engaged in basic research in the areas of AIDS, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and neuroscience. Two-year grants of $200,000 are awarded to full-time independent investigators working in Massachusetts academic or research institutions.
