Study Abroad: Guidelines for Biochemistry Majors
Notes about Study Abroad
Biochemistry majors interested in studying abroad during their junior year should carefully plan their course sequencing. Before going abroad, Biochemistry majors should have completed the following courses:
- BIOL2000, BIOL2010 or BIOL3030, & BIOL2040
- A cell biology course
- An additional biology course (prefereably genetics)
- General Chemistry I & II
- Organic Chemistry I & II
- Calculus II
Biochemistry majors going abroad are advised to select approved locations that offer science courses. Students may count one approved elective taken abroad toward their major and a biochemistry course is generally recommended.
Please note: COURSES FOR CREDIT TOWARD THE MAJOR MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BEFORE THE START OF THE SEMESTER TAKEN ABROAD.
