Woods College of Advancing Studies
OFFICE LOCATION AND HOURS
The Woods College of Advancing Studies is located in St. Mary's Hall South, and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. When classes are in session, the office is also open Monday through Thursday evenings until 7:00 p.m, and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
REGISTRATION FOR 2017-2018 FALL COURSES
Registration for WCAS students for Fall 2017 opens Wednesday, April 5, 2017. The course schedule can be viewed here. While this course information is provided to make your course selection process more seamless please be aware that it is important to consult your advisor and UIS to be sure the course is available.
BC day students who have received approval from their Dean and/or major department to take a WCAS course may register beginning at 8:00am on Monday, August 28th, at the Woods College office in St. Mary's Hall South.
Beginning April 5, 2017, continuing WCAS students may register online using UIS and pay for Fall 2017 courses via the Agora Portal; by mail; or in-person at St. Mary's Hall South, Ground Floor. New students may either submit a registration form by mail, or register in-person at St. Mary's Hall South.
WCAS students in a degree program are required to meet with an academic advisor prior to registration each semester.
After meeting with an academic advisor, all WCAS students should register online; use this link to get the UIS registration software and instructions for registering. Students should also pay their spring charges online, through the Agora portal.
The fall semester starts Monday, August 28, 2017.

All new Woods College degree and non-degree students must complete the appropriate online application for admission. After completing the application process and gaining acceptance, newly accepted Woods College students should use their BC creditials (username and Eagle #) to register directly online. ONLINE COURSE OFFERINGS
The Woods College offers several online course options at both the Undergraduate and Graduate Levels. Please note that Woods College students and non-degree students in the Woods College are able to take our online courses. At present, no day-school students may take online courses for credit.
TUITION AND FEES
Tuition for WCAS undergraduate courses for the 2017-2018 academic year is $1900 per course.
Registration fee per semester is $25.
For students wishing to audit a Woods College undergraduate course (without receiving academic credit) the fee is $913. The fee paid to audit a course is non-refundable.
Visiting Students (undergraduate students who have been approved to take day school courses) pay the day school per-credit rate, which is $1,683 per credit.
The required Massachusetts medical insurance for fall 2017 semester is $1283; for spring 2018 semester is $1,805. For more complete information and waiver deadlines see the Student Guide, General Information page; or go to the Medical Insurance webpage.
All fees and tuition charges are due at the time of registration.
2017-2018 WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS
All requests for withdrawal from a course must be submitted in writing to the Woods College of Advancing Studies in St. Mary's Hall South; no course withdrawal or refund of tuition will be processed without written notification from the student.
Medical Insurance 2017-2018
Annual mandatory Massachusetts medical insurance for 2017-2018 is $3088.
Massachusetts State Law mandates that ALL STUDENTS IN A DEGREE PROGRAM will be automatically charged for medical insurance regardless of the number of credit hours for which they are registered.
Also, Non-Degree students registered for three or more courses will also be automatically charged for medical insurance.
Students have the option of participating in the BostonCollege plan or completing a waiver through AGORA. Waivers must be completed every year. All waiver forms must be submitted through the Agora Portal. The waiver must include specific insurance information of comparable coverage. Students who do not submit a waiver will be automatically billed $1283 for the Fall semester and $1805 for the Spring semester for the Massachusetts Medical Insurance. Waivers must be submitted each year. The deadline to submit a waiver is September 22, 2017 for the Fall term, and January 26, 2018 for Spring. Students who do not complete a waiver prior to the deadline are automatically enrolled and charged the student only premium for the Student Blue Plan.
