Amanda Paglia,
Vice President at a Boston-based finance company

MS in Leadership & Administration,
Program Specialization: Human Resources Management
Class of 2017

"There’s no check-the-box approach to leadership here. We’re taught to be flexible and open to change. Through the program’s focus on ethical leadership, we’re not just learning the skills to move up in our careers, we’re also looking beyond our individual goals to help employees and organizations succeed. I am happy to share that I was promoted after I finished the program in May."

Shirlon Dujon, Sales Manager North America Sales Team at OAG/Official Aviation Guide

Current MSLA student,
Program Specialization: Corporate Communication & Marketing

"My Communication classes in the MSLA program have really helped my communication skills and gave me the confidence needed to be a public speaker. I was able to deliver my Powerpoint presentation to the executives at OAG (OAG/Official Aviation Guide) with no fear, which was much needed during my final interview.

The Evolution to Marketing Strategies and Marketing Analytics classes also came in the clutch during the early parts of the interview process because I was able to relate to OAG based on the things I was taught in those classes."

(OAG is a flight intelligence company offering a wide array of services that include flight schedules, analytics and applications to airlines, airports and government agencies throughout the world).

Sean Doherty,
Director of Marketing at Greater Media Boston

Current MSLA student,
Program Specialization: Corporate Communication & Marketing

"During the summer after my high school graduation, I was slated to continue my education at a performing arts school in New York. Due to my father's deployment to Afghanistan with the US Army and the care needed for my grandparents, my plans got delayed. While planning on a "gap year" I was told by a co-worker of mine about WCAS and that I should meet with Fr. Woods since my goal was always to continue my education while being able to care for my family here in Boston. It was after that first meeting with Fr. Woods that I was instantly drawn to the amazing curriculum and potential to be able to balance full time work and a continuing education. After graduating in 2008, I continued to excel in the professional sector and eventually obtained a position as Director of Marketing for a media company here in Boston.

WCAS has afforded me every affordable opportunity to enjoy an amazing college experience while being able to grow professionally. During my time at BC I rowed crew, performed in a sketch comedy group, volunteered with an urban outreach program, and studied abroad to London in what would end up being the most incredible trip of my life. The faculty and staff understand those of us that want to be in school, want to learn, and want to achieve. Such is the BC culture, you're instantly part of an extended family that spans generations, continents, and professions.

WCAS allows you to go at the pace that works for you. You work on your own timeline and the staff and resources are all here to support you. Whether you have just graduated high school or earned your undergrad during in 1986, if you have the drive to work hard and utilize all of the tools WCAS affords, you will never struggle and you will be on your way to a greater education, career, and life."

Elizabeth Centofanti, Financial Services at RTN Federal Credit Union

MS in Leadership & Administration,

Program Specialization: Executive Leadership & Organizational Development
Class of 2017

Elizabeth recently received a recent promotion, in part due to her graduate work at BC.

"As a child, it was my lifelong dream to attend Boston College.  Year after year, I  cheered at football games with my parents and grandparents - proud alumni and season ticket holders. Though an opportunity to play in Division One athletics drove me to attend a different university, I still carried great pride in Boston College.  When faced with the decision of where to attend graduate school, there was no question. The university focuses on challenging students academically, and it also helps to form them socially and emotionally. The networking connections are unparalleled. I am honored to count myself among my Boston College family."
