Bob is a specialist in developmental psychology and moral reasoning who works with individuals and organizations to identify and address the gaps between their stated values and the reality of their lives. For over 25 years he has helped leaders to identify the unstated dilemmas in their work as they recognize conflicts over values and strategy. Prior to his work at the Center on Wealth and Philanthropy, Bob was the Executive Director of More Than Money, a national non-profit committed to helping inheritors align their money with their values as they live full and meaningful lives.

A former Associate in Education at the Center for Moral Education at Harvard from 2006-2008 Bob was a visiting professor on Money and Values at Naropa University in Boulder Colorado.

Also known for his work training young people to develop the political skills needed to participate in the democratic process, Bob co-founded the New England Conference for Democratic Schools and has written extensively on the subject. His published works include numerous articles and the book Preparing for Citizenship: Teaching Youth to Live Democratically which was translated into Russian.

For many years Bob worked with directors of the Kennedy Foundation to develop and implement a national program to prevent high-risk behavior in vulnerable adolescents. Based on this work, Bob testified in Congress to the Select Committee on Children, Youth, and Families on successful resiliency building programs.

Bob holds a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Boston University, a certificate of advanced studies from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a master's degree in Educational Psychology from Seton Hall University and a BA in History from Benedictine College.
