Perceptions of Age Discrimination in the Workplace
On November 18, Jacquelyn James, Research Director at the Center, will present findings from a workplace-based study of over 6,000 retail employees at the Gerontological Society of America’s 64th Annual Scientific Meeting in Boston (Nov 18-22.) Findings indicate that perceptions of both intentional and unintentional age discrimination affect the employee engagement of employees of all ages, not just older employees. Unintentional discrimination, however, appears to have more negative consequences for the work engagement of older workers.
