Age is more complicated than just adding up years, writes Marcie Pitt-Catsouphes and colleagues at The Sloan Center on Aging and Work in their article “Through a Different Looking Glass: The Prism of Age.” In writing about the workplace they suggest we can think about age according to categories such as chronological age, physical/cognitive age, career-stage age, organizational age and more.
Using “The Prism of Age” as a model, Phyllis Weiss Haserot, from PBS’ digital platform Next Avenue, developed “Eight Facets of an Authentic Life” relevant to environments outside of work. Here are a few to consider.
