20% of foreign-born US population aged 65+- are in the foreign-born labor force


“The proportion of the foreign-born labor force made up of 25- to 54-year- olds (73.7%) was higher than for the native-born labor force (62.5%).” The proportion of 55-64- year-olds in the foreign-born labor force was 67.1%, compared to 63.4% for the native born labor force. For those aged 65+, 19.6% of foreign-born were in the foreign-born labor force, compared to 18.8% native-born, according to a 2016 analysis of Current Population Survey data. (Table 1)
