Labor force participation rate of workers age 45-54 fell 2% from 2004-2014

"Among workers 35 to 44 years old and those 45 to 54 years old, labor force participation rates have declined since 2000. "The labor force participation rates of these two groups were 83.6% and 81.8 %, respectively, in 2004, falling to 82.2% and 79.6% in 2014," according to a 2016 analysis of data from the Current Population Survey.
