Unemployment rate for adults 55+ was about 3% in December 2015 

"In December 2015, the unemployment rate was 5.0% for the third month in a row. The rate by age ranged from 3.2% for those age 55 and over to 16.1% for teenagers (16 to 19 years)." For those age 45-54, the rate was 3.8%, according to a 2016 report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
