Among U.S. workers age 45+, 58% indicate that work gives them a sense of identity, compared to 52% of those aged 18-44. In contrast, 39% of workers aged 45+ say that their job is "just what you do", compared to 45% of those aged 18-44, according to a 2014 Gallup survey.
