1 in 5 Older Workers Had to Take Leave or Quit Their Jobs Due to Adult Caregiving Demands
In the past five years, "17% of older workers have had to take leave from their job to care for an adult family member, while 4% have had to quit their job. One in five says they anticipate that they may need to take leave from their job in the next five years to do the same", according to a 2013 AARP survey of workers aged 45-74.
