Over 6 in 10 of Grandparents Provide Financial Assistance to Grandchildren
"Just over six in 10 (62%) grandparents have provided financial assistance or monetary gifts to their grandchildren either directly or through their parents in the past five years, with an average amount of assistance over that time period of $8,289," according to a 2012 MetLife survey of grandparents aged 45+.
