Compared to 1970, the Educational Level of the Older Population Has Significantly Increased
"The educational level of the older population is increasing. Between 1970 and 2009, the percentage of older persons (age 65+) who had completed high school rose from 28% to 78.3%. About 21.7% in 2009 had a bachelor's degree or higher," according to the 2011 Profile of Older Americans.
