Phyllis Snyder, Vice President of CAEL, has consulted with organizations to increase the quality and availability of learning opportunities for their workforce during the last eighteen years. With funding from the US Department of Labor, she designed a Nursing Career Lattice program using the apprenticeship model that was implemented in nine states. She has studied the implications of the aging workforce on business and has developed programs to help address the transition to an encore career. During the last three years, she has helped to lead the Aging Worker Initiative, a ten site project jointly funded by Atlantic Philanthropies and the Department of Labor.
She is a graduate of Smith College and holds master’s degrees in education from Harvard University and in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
