Maternity Leave

Upon the birth of her child, a full-time member of the faculty is entitled to a semester of paid leave with full salary and benefits; such leave must terminate within twelve months after her child is born.

Adoption Leave

During the period immediately following placement of an adopted child in his/her home, a full-time member of the faculty is entitled to a semester of paid leave with full salary and benefits, provided that the faculty member certify that he or she is the primary caregiver for the adoptive child, and the child must be under the age of 13; such leave must terminate within twelve months after the child is adopted or enters the faculty member’s home under a foster care arrangement.

In both cases, the faculty member must notify the Dean, who should then notify the Vice Provost for Faculties.
