What part of your job at BC will you miss the most? "There are so many parts of my job that I will miss. Most importantly, I'll miss the satisfaction of knowing I've helped another student find the financial resources to get through Boston College. I'll miss my many colleagues and all of the wonderful friendships I've had over all these many years. I have had the privilege of working with and for some great people. I'll miss what Fr. Monan calls the 'sense of community' at Boston College. Thankfully, with my season tickets to the athletic events, I'll still be part of Boston College."

What part of your job at BC will you miss the most?  "You can't work anywhere for that long without caring and having a lot of enthusiasm for your work. That's the kind of atmosphere that we have here. It has always been exciting for me to be a member of the 'BC team.' Sometimes we were away from our families for emergency issues [on campus] - I remember a Christmas week when we were here to fix a steam leak near the main entrance and a Thanksgiving when we were called in for a high voltage electrical repair on Upper Campus. But I always felt a lot of satisfaction when we completed our tasks.  I have very positive feelings for the University and its people."

Title: Professor, Philosophy Department
Years at BC: 39
What part of your job at BC will you miss the most?  "I think I will clearly miss teaching the most. I particularly enjoyed teaching in the Perspectives program - the whole Perspectives program is a wonderful undergraduate experience. I also was director of the core curriculum for a long time, and I found that to be a really intriguing experience, because there were elected members from all sectors and I got to know a lot of what goes on all over the University. I learned a lot about how the sciences function, the humanities, the nursing school, the business school and the others. That was very rewarding for me."

Title: Staff Assistant, Office of Residential Life
Years at BC: 26
What part of your job at BC will you miss the most?  "I will miss the interaction with all of the students, with the people in the office and the interaction with everyone on the Staff Advisory Senate. I have been the [Senate] president for about the last 10 years. There are so many different things that I was involved with and am proud of - the Staff Advisory Senate, the Women's Collaborative, the Parking Advisory Council, the 'Wise Investment' group, a little investment club that we had. I made a lot of new friends along the way and kept in touch with a lot of old ones. I will probably keep coming back to stay in touch with them, but I won't have to say, 'I'll do it on my lunch hour' anymore."
