Obituary: Laferriere, Was on Math Faculty  More Than Three Decades

A Mass was celebrated Nov. 11 at our Lady Help of Christians Church in Newton for, Archille J. "Archie" Laferriere, who taught in the Mathematics Department for more than 35 years. Prof. Laferriere, a resident of Framingham, died Nov. 7. 

A native of Newton, Prof. Laferriere earned a bachelor's degree from Boston College in 1945, and his master's degree five years later.
Prof. Laferriere leaves his wife, Rita A. (Paradis) Laferriere; his children, Annette Tramontozzi of Watertown, Cecile Harrington of West Roxbury, Suzanne Hughes of Ellijay, Ga., Richard, of North Grafton, and Leo of Woburn; his brothers, William of Tampa, Fla., Paul and Raymond, both of Attleborough, and Wilfred of Fort Myers, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

He was father of the late Elaine M. Laferriere, and brother of the late Anna, Charlebois and Robert Laferriere.

Burial was in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Attleborough.
