BC's Seamus Connolly in Concert on Web Sept. 27

Sullivan Artist-in-Residence Seamus Connolly, the director of Irish music programs at Boston College, will perform a concert that will be streamed live via the Internet on Sept. 27 at 8 p.m.

Connolly, acclaimed as one of Ireland’s greatest living fiddle players, will appear at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC; among the musicians joining him will be flute and whistle player Jimmy Noonan, who teaches in BC’s Irish Studies Program. Connolly’s performance is sponsored through the National Endowment for the Arts, which has named him a recipient of a National Heritage Fellowship — the nation's highest honor in the folk and traditional arts. Connolly will be presented with his award at a Sept. 25 ceremony held in the Library of Congress.
