All major institutions, no matter how safe, have an obligation to prepare for an emergency situation. At Boston College, we have an Emergency Preparedness Team to assist students, faculty, staff and parents in the event of a natural disaster or a man-made incident that threatens the well-being of our community members.
The Emergency Preparedness Team has designated this website as the primary source of information in the event of a campus emergency. This site offers information about existing campus safety procedures, guidelines for responding to and staying informed in the event of an emergency, links to on and off-campus resources and general tips for making safe choices every day.
In the event of severe weather or other emergency situation, the University, in addition to this website, will communicate with the community through as many of the following channels as the situation warrants:
- Updated alerts on BC Info
- Recorded messages on the University's inclement weather/emergency hotline 617-552-INFO
- Email and voice mail alerts
- Cell phone and text message alerts
