Student Exam and Study Location Guide

CLASSROOM AVAILABILITY AND FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE

During study days and exam times, all classrooms are open 24 hours a day, including weekends. Students are allowed to use classrooms to study as long as the room is not being used for an exam.

Final exams for day students and graduate students will take place Saturday, December 13 – Saturday, December 20 with testing scheduled for 9 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. On Saturday, December 20 the only scheduled exam will take place at 9 a.m.

Final exams for Woods College of Advancing Studies students will take place Tuesday, December 9– Monday, December 15 with testing scheduled from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

O'NEILL LIBRARY

O’Neill Library will be open 24/7 through Saturday, December 20, at 5:00 p.m. Gargan Hall will be open through Friday, December 19, until midnight.

Additional study space will be available in O’Neill Library during the 24/7. Below is a list of rooms and times they will be available for student use. 

  • Conference rooms 413 and 406 (both have flat screens) and Classroom 211 (tablet arm chairs, subdued lighting) unless reserved for a class, are open from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. 
  • Connors Family Learning Center (seating at round tables)
    Present - Wednesday, December 10 | 9:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. 
    Thursday, December 11 - Saturday December 20 | 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
    * Wednesday, December 17th it will be open | 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Dining Halls

  • Corcoran (Lower Live) will be open Thursday, December 11 - Wednesday, December 17, until 2:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18 6:30 a.m. until midnight
  • McElroy (Carney’s) will be open Thursday, December 11 –Wednesday, December 17, until 2:00 a.m.  Thursday, December 18 7:30 a.m. until midnight

825 Centre Street (Newton Campus)
825 Centre Street will be open for small group meetings and study space on Thursday, December 11 -  Friday, December 12, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. and Saturday, December 13 - Thursday, December 18, 5:00 - 1:00 a.m.  

The Cabaret Room
The Cabaret Room will be open Thursday, December 11, -  Wednesday, December 17 from 10:00 a.m. – Midnight and Thursday, December 18 – Friday, December 19 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Career Center
Students seeking quiet study space can utilize an interview room in the Career Center on a first-come, first-served basis.  Up to 9 rooms are available each day during regular business hours beginning December 11th through the end of the exam period, except on Tuesday, December 16 and Wednesday, December 17. Students can also reserve an interview room to conduct Skype interviews.  Students can call the Career Center at 617-552-4769 to reserve space.

The O'Connell House 
The O’Connell House will be open for studying, effective December 13, Sunday through Thursday until 11:00pm and Friday and Saturday until midnight.

Maloney Hall 4th Floor Reception Area 
The Office of the Vice President for Students Affairs will be offering pastries, donuts, coffee, and cider on Thursday, December 11 at 9:30 a.m., followed by cookies in the afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Murray Graduate Student Center 
The Murray Graduate Center is open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Saturday Closed and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Trinity Chapel (Newton Campus) 
Trinity chapel will be open Thursday, December 11 - Friday, December 12, 11:00 a.m.– 1:00 a.m.  Saturday, December 13 - Thursday, December 18, 5:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.  A reminder that Trinity basement has individual study space

The Office of Health Promotion 
As part of their Pre-finals Relaxation Event on Friday, December 12th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in Gasson, Health Promotion will be offering coffee, tea, hot chocolate, healthy snacks, arts & crafts, and the opportunity to sign up for FREE chair massages.
