STATEMENT REGARDING RACIST INCIDENTS
Several incidents of racist behavior, including vandalism in a residence hall and a disturbing social media post, occurred this weekend on the BC campus.
Boston College condemns all acts of hate and is committed to holding any student who violates our standards accountable.
Federal privacy laws preclude our discussion of individual disciplinary matters, other than to say that a thorough investigation is ongoing.
Staff from the Bowman AHANA Intercultural Center, Dean of Students, and University Counseling Services are available to students for support and conversation.
We call upon all members of the BC community to treat each other with respect and to stand united against intolerance in any form.

Support for Puerto Rico
All of us within the BC community have been pained by the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria on the island of Puerto Rico.
Boston College President William P. Leahy, S.J., Executive Vice President Michael Lochhead, and Provost and Dean of Faculties David Quigley sent the following letter to the University community on January 29, 2017.
Inclusive Community Recommendations
The Division of Student Affairs has a long history of supporting diversity and promoting an inclusive community at Boston College. Supporting and valuing the diversity of our students and staff is integral to our work and has been a prominent part of our strategic plans for the last decade. The recommendations outlined below were developed with input from students, staff, and faculty through dinners with senior administrators, focus groups with students, individual conversations and open town halls. The recommendations will continue to guide our work and shape our efforts to provide a welcoming and inclusive community for all students at Boston College.
