NSEP/Boren Scholarship

Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors
Any academic field. Supports study abroad for up to a year, studying the language and culture of a non-Western country. January 1
Get application information from, and submit application to BC Coordinator, for review by BC Nominating Committee.
Boston College
Undergraduate Research Fellowships

Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors; not available to A&S freshmen
Any academic field. Supports undergraduates who assist a BC faculty member in faculty research, during the Fall, Spring, or Summer semester.

Usually early September, December, and March.  For deadlines, consult the website for your school.

Formal application must be made by the faculty member who will direct the research. Get application information from the Director of Undergraduate Studies in your major.

Advanced Study Grants

Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors
Any academic field.
Supports student-designed research or language skills acquisition projects during the summer.
January 15
nominations invited;
March 13 applications due
Applicants must be nominated by a faculty member. Invitations to submit proposals will be sent to all nominated students by BC Coordinator.
