Faculty and staff at Boston College using a vehicle to come to the University are required to register their vehicle with the Office of Student Services and affix a valid parking permit to their vehicle. Many types of permits are available and each requires certain eligibility criteria.
Please note, no permit holder may park in a designated visitor space, reserved BC service van space, or a carpool space (without proper permit). Handicapped spaces may only be used by those holding a valid state HP placard or plate which must be visible at all times along with the appropriate Boston College permit.

Parking Permit Types
See the chart below for a full description of permits available to qualified employees and the restrictions of each permit. Employee parking permits are limited to current employees on the Boston College payroll system.
The employee parking permits are designed to allow flexibility for use on all four wheeled vehicles registered to this single permit. This moveable permit can be peeled and stuck to any clean windshield interior numerous times without being damaged. If the permit should fail to adhere or tear during the course of the year please return the damaged permit to Student Services for replacement at no cost to you.
It is the responsibility of the employee to remember to register his/her vehicle with BC and post the permit in the vehicle windshield for access to the Boston College campus. Limit of one permit per employee at any one time.
Permits will not be granted or renewed if outstanding unpaid campus parking citations are on the individual applicant's record.
Access to Garages - Transponders
On September 5, 2006 both garages will be accessed either by paying or with your Boston College transponder. Upon receiving your parking permit you will also receive a Boston College transponder. This device will open the gate upon your arrival at the garages. It must be positioned according to the specific instructions you receive when you pick it up with your permit.
Your transponder will work in the same way an EZ-Pass does, but it will not interfere with an EZ-Pass (or any other transponder) if one is already in your car. You can have both and they will work independently of each other. One CANNOT substitute for the other.
How your transponder works when entering or exiting the garage:
- Pull up to entrance or exit
- Reader installed in garage will read BC transponder and open the gate in about 2 seconds
Lost and Misplaced Permits & Transponders
All lost permits must be reported to the BC Police Department before a new permit is obtained through the Office of Student Services. Filing a false report will result in the permit holder's forfeiture of future parking permit privileges from Boston College. A replacement fee of $100 will be assessed for lost, stolen or misplaced permits.
All lost or broken transponders must be reported to the BC Police Department before a new transponder is obtained through the Office of Student Services. Filing a false report will result in the permit holder's forfeiture of future parking permit privileges from Boston College. A replacement fee of $100 will be assessed for lost, stolen, misplaced or damaged transponders.
Event Restrictions
All vehicles must be moved off the Chestnut Hill campus by midnight the evening prior to scheduled home football games. All vehicles remaining on the Chestnut Hill campus after midnight will be towed at the owner's expense.
