MassRIDES is a free program of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). This program is designed to help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality and mobility by encouraging the use of commute options like carpooling, vanpooling, taking transit, walking, bicykling, telecommuting, and alternative work schedules like compressed work weeks and flextime.
To accomplish these goals, MassRIDES works with both employers and commuters within the Commonwealth to promote the use of commute options. Through hands-on worksite assistance, ridematching services, marketing and outreach events, MassRIDES annually offers thousand of commuters and employers time- and money-saving solutions for a better commute in Massachusetts.
Through the year, MassRIDES encourages green commuting through tabling events where employees and students can sign up for NuRide. Additionally, the program plans statewide events such as Bay State Bike Week in May, and The Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge in September.
One of MassRIDE most-used programs is called NuRide. This free tool helps residents in Massachusetts find carpool or vanpool matches and provides rewards for green commutes. Create an account on the website to find someone to carpool or vanpool with, if you don't already have someone in mind to ask. For every green trip you log into the dashboard, you will receive points that you can apply to redeem discounts to local and national retailers.
As Massachusetts' statewide commuter services organization, MassRIDES provides assistance to commuters, companies, and Transportation Management Associations throughout the Commonwealth. Not only do vanpools exist that are solely for one company, but many provide service to many local employees of other businesses, schools, colleges, and universities. MassRIDES can match you up with a convenient group geared to your schedule and locations. Email email@example.com for help with your commute today.
