The Browse window appears (refer to Figure 2):

  4. Select the hard drive, zip, or floppy disk you want to scan, then click OK.
  5. Click Scan Now.
  6. If VirusScan finds a virus, click Delete unless you recognize the file as a critical document of which you don't have a copy. If this is the case, click Clean.
Important: Some viruses can damage files so that they are unusable. In this instance, your file is already beyond repair. VirusScan disinfects the file, but may not be able to save it. This is where back-ups come in handy.
  7. If the infected file cannot be deleted or cleaned, do the following:
    1. Select the Move option. Move the file to your desktop and allow the scan to continue to the end.
    2. When the scan has finished, Restart your computer.
    3. After restarting, drag the infected files from your desktop to the recycle Bin and right click on the recycle Bin to empty it.  If it is a critical document, print it out before moving to the recycle bin.
  8. If necessary, repeat Steps 2-6 for other drives or disks.
