Install VirusScan
FOR WINDOWS 98 AND WINDOWS ME

Install VirusScan.

  1. Click on the VirusScan 4.5.1 link below.
  2. If you are prompted with a File Download window (refer to Figure 4),  Click on the SAVE button.

  4. Save the file, called virusscan_4.5.1sp1.msi, to your Desktop.
  5. Locate Virusscan_4.5.1sp1.msi on your Desktop and double-click to open.

  6. If VirusScan 4.5 or earlier has previously been installed, you will see a window titled Previous Version Detected (refer to Figure 5).Remove the check next to Preserve Scan Settings and click Next.

  8. If you do not already have McAfee installed you will see the following Product Information screen (refer to Figure 6). Click Next.

  10. The License Agreement will display (refer to Figure 7). Click on the radio button labeled I agree to the terms of the License Agreement and click Next.

  12. If you are prompted with a Modify option (refer to Figure 8), Click the Cancel button and skip to Step 3.

  14. The Select Security Type window will display. Make sure the Use Standard Security radio button is selected (refer to Figure 9).

  16. The Setup Type window will appear.  Select the radio button labeled Typical Installation and click Next (refer to Figure 10).

  18. Click Install (refer to Figure 11).

  20. The VirusScan Configuration window will appear. Un-Check the Create an Emergency Disc and Run Default Scan options and click Next (refer to Figure 12).

  22. The Update Virus Definition files window will appear. Select the Wait and Run AutoUpdate Later radio button (refer to Figure 13)

  24. If you are prompted to Start a VirusScan, Un-Check Start Virus Scan (refer to Figure 14).

  26. Click Finish.

Note: If you see the message You have chosen to move, delete, or clean files… Click OK.
