January 2015

From the Office of Student Services

  • Diploma Names
To confirm your diploma name, go to the Agora Portal, which can be accessed from any web browser, seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. until midnight (Eastern Standard Time), and select "Diploma Name Information - View/Edit" from your "My Services" menu. Enter your Eagle ID number to view your information. Your name will appear as it is listed on the University's student system. Follow the directions and post your password at the bottom of the screen, even if you have no changes. This will ensure that your diploma is ordered correctly and that you are listed in the Commencement Program. Please note that only your name, degree, and Latin honors (Law students only) are printed on your diploma.

  • Degree Requirements
If you have questions regarding your graduation status or you have not resolved potential graduation clearance problems, contact your academic recorder immediately. Recorders for all schools and colleges are located in Lyons Hall. They are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M.

March 2015

From the Office of the University Secretary

  • Commencement Fair
In March, Boston College will host a Commencement Fair for graduating students in the Murray Room, on the fourth floor of the Yawkey building across from the "Plex." The fair will take place on Tuesday, March 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The fair will be a one stop shop for students as they prepare for commencement. You will be able to preregister for your cap and gown order, purchase alumni season football tickets, sign-up for or take part in a financial aid exit interview, and speak with someone from your individual school about graduation requirements.

  • E-Invitations
Graduates will have access to an E-Invite beginning in mid-March. Each student eligible to graduate will receive an e-mail, which will provide access to the E-Invite. There is no limit to the number of E-Invites that may be sent by each student. Please note that an E-Invite is not a ticket. No tickets are required for the Main Ceremony on May 18, 2015, which takes place rain or shine in Alumni Stadium. In case of severe weather, the diploma ceremony for the Lynch School of Education may be moved and will require tickets. Ticket distribution for Arts and Sciences, Management, and Nursing will take place at Cap and Gown Distribution on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, May 13-15, 2015. School of Education tickets will be available through the Dean's Office.

From the Office of Student Services

  • Commencement Guide for Graduate Students
Student Services will email the Graduate Student Commencement Guide with detailed information about Commencement activities, parking, seating, and tickets for some of the School/College diploma ceremonies in the event of severe weather conditions.

  • Financial Services
Exit interviews are mandatory for students graduating in May, August, or December who have borrowed Perkins, Presidential, Nursing, and/or Federal Direct student loans. Exit interview information will be mailed to all graduating students in March. Exit Interviews will be conducted during the month of April. Failure to complete an exit interview or to resolve any outstanding financial obligation to the University will result in a hold being placed on your diploma and transcript.
