In the summer and fall of 2006, the Office of the Provost and the Office of Student Services as well as the University Council on Teaching came together to pilot BC's first online course evaluation system. By the beginning of the spring 2007 semester, evaluating courses online, which had been optional in the fall, became the norm as administrators, faculty, and students saw the value of a system that is fast, easy, convenient, secure, anonymous, and confidential.
In response to requests from students for course evaluation information which they could access during the course registration process, quantitative results were made available in the fall of 2009 to BC users via the Course Information and Schedule link in their Agora Portal.
For more information contact the Office of Student Services by calling 617-552-3300 or by sending an email to studentservices@bc.edu. Feel free to send any comments or suggestions about the course evaluation system or website to evals@bc.edu.
Online Course Evaluations for Students
BC students complete all course evaluations online. You don't need to hassle with paper forms, rush through the evaluations during class, or worry if the instructor will recognize your handwriting.
To access your course evaluations go to your Agora Portal and select "My Services." In the Academics and Courses section, click on course evaluations.
Course evaluation results are used by faculty to improve teaching, and they are a significant component in the promotion and tenure process. Read more about online course evaluations in The Heights editorial,“Take The Time to Rate Your Professors,” in the December 17, 2006, issue.
