Welles, was a '99 BC grad and varsity lacrosse player. On September 11, 2001, he died a hero, saving the lives of others and becoming known at "the Man in the Red Bandanna."
To learn more about Welles, visit the Crowther Trust page, or watch this ESPN video about the Man in the Red Bandanna.
The annual 5k brings together Welles' family, friends, BC alumni, students, faculty, and staff at BC as well as the local and even national community. We come together to celebrate and honor the life of this incredible individual.
The Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust
The Crowther family established The Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust to honor Welles' memory through scholarships and support of organizations that assist young people in their pursuit of excellence. The work of the Trust is made possible through the generosity of others; donations and participation in very special fundraising events such as the Welles Remy Crowther Red Bandanna 5k Run at Boston College. We hope that you will help us carry on Welles' legacy.
A special thank you to all those at Boston College who help make this event so successful. We could not make this happen without the support of BC Dining, BCPD, the department of Transportation & Parking, and the Office of Community & Govermental Affairs.
In addition, we are all extremely grateful for the annual support of the men's and women's lacrosse teams, the men's baseball team, Eagle EMS, women's field hockey, and the many students, faculty, and staff who participate as volunteers, runners, walkers, or well-wishers.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
