Brighton Dance Studio
robsham theater arts center
The Brighton Dance Studio (BDS) opened for its first use on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. The studio includes a basketball court-sized dance space, mirrors, a sound system, ballet barres, and a coat room. It is located at 2115 Commonwealth Avenue, on Boston College’s Brighton Campus, less than a ten minute walk from the Robsham Theater Arts Center.
The BDS was created by renovating the former gymnasium from St. John’s Seminary (formerly know as the Brighton Gym). The project was initiated and managed by the Arts Space Task Force, a committee of administrators that has sought to fulfill some of the space needs of arts programs and organizations on campus until new buildings and proper arts facilities can be built. For questions about the Arts Space Task Force, contact Cathi Ianno Fournier (BC Arts Council) at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jim Kreinbring (Student Affairs) at email@example.com.
The BDS will be used only for rehearsals, workshops, and classes for the benefit of enrolled Boston College students. The BDS is not available as a meeting space or public performance venue. The studio will be used primarily for student group dance rehearsals, but some academic classes will also take place there. The studio is managed by Shep Barnett, Associate Director of the Robsham Theater – firstname.lastname@example.org.
