Robsham Theater Arts Center

Vision and Outcomes

The mission of the Robsham Theater Arts Center, a Division of Student Affairs, is to
facilitate the learning and formation of our students.  While this objective is often
achieved through the diverse collection of classes, rehearsals, cultural shows and
theatrical performances held onstage, the RTAC team is also dedicated to providing
students with practice-oriented experiences behind the scenes like in the areas of
ticketing, venue management, sound engineering, lighting design and AV production.
Each year, the Robsham Theater Arts Center hires both theater majors and non-theater
majors as part of a student workforce dedicated to help run the theater.  In addition to
learning the technical expertise involved in theater/event management, the Student
Employee Program at the Robsham Theater Arts Center focuses on providing students
with experiences that will develop and enhance transferable skills like critical thinking,
time management, communication and problem solving so that upon graduation,
students employed in the Robsham Theater Arts Center are not just talented
employees, but exceptional leaders ready to become working professionals, whether it
be working in the theater or not.
