Summer Internship Housing 1 & 2

*When Applying for Summer Internship Housing through your Agora Portal please utilize the "2016 Summer Employee Housing" Application option.

  • Availability: Internship housing is extremely limited and will be approved on a first come, first served, case by case basis. You may select specific arrival and departure dates within one of the following three options:
    • Session 1: May 17th–June 18th
    • Session 2: June 18th–July 30th
    • Sessions 1 & 2: May 17th–July 30th
  • Eligibility: Strictly Boston College undergraduate students who are living on campus during the Spring semester that have an internship in the Boston area.
    • Summer Internship students must send a signed a copy of their acceptance letter from their internship program to summer.housing@bc.edu. This document should be on letterhead and clearly state the dates of employment.
    • Should your employment be terminated for any reason, you will no longer be eligible to live on campus. You are required to notify summer.housing@bc.edu immediately to arrange your move-out.
  • Accommodations: Double-occupancy rooms in Claver, Loyola, Xavier & Fenwick Halls from May 17th-June 18th and Voute Hall from June 18th-July 30th.
    • All rooms are double occupancy. Should you feel that you need a single, or you believe that you will be unable to relocate on July 30th, you may be able to find a sublet that will better fulfill your needs. Click here to view summer sublet list.
    • Summer Internship students may room only with other summer internship or employee students. Students staying for Summer Sessions will receive housing in a different residence hall or area within the same residence halls.
  • Rate:
        Claver, Loyola, Xavier & Fenwick (non-AC): (2016 rate pending)
        Voute Hall (AC): (2016 rate pending)
  • Check-in: All students granted Summer Internship Housing must check out from their current residence and check into their new residence according to the transition schedule. If your transition requires you to stay in your current hall for one night, please print your email confirmation and post it on your door by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17th. Starting Friday, May 20th, you may check in at the Summer Welcome Center.
  • Check-out: All Summer Internship students are required to check out at the Summer Welcome Center no later than 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30th. Improper/late check-out, failure to check out, or excessive trash or room damage will result in fines and University disciplinary action.


Summer Internship Housing 3

  • Availability: July 30th–August 17th
  • Eligibility: Strictly Boston College undergraduate students who are living on campus during the Spring semester that have an internship in the Boston area. only students participating in Session 1 & 2 or Session 2 are eligible to stay for Session 3.
    • Summer Internship students must send a signed a copy of their acceptance letter from their internship program to summer.housing@bc.edu. This document should be on company letterhead and clearly state the dates of employment.
    • Should your employment be terminated for any reason, you will no longer be eligible to live on campus. You are required to notify summer.housing@bc.edu immediately to arrange your move-out.
  • Accommodations: Double-occupancy rooms in Voute Hall
    • Each air-conditioned apartment consists of one or two bedrooms, a living room, dining area, bath, and modern kitchen. Kitchens are equipped with a sink, stove, oven, dishwasher, and disposal. Please note that cooking utensils and dinnerware are not provided.
  • Rate:
        Voute Hall: 2016 Rate pending
  • Check-in: All students granted Summer Internship Housing will remain in their Summer Internship 2 housing in Voute Hall.
  • Check-out: All Summer Internship students are required to check out at the Summer Welcome Center no later than 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 17th. Improper/late check-out, failure to check out, or excessive trash or room damage may result in fines and University disciplinary action.
    • Students who have confirmed housing for the Fall semester will be checked into their academic-year placement at this time.
    • If you are living off campus for the Fall semester and have a lease that starts after August 17, 2016, Boston College CANNOT house you until the start of your lease. This is due to the need to prepare the halls for the arrival of our Fall resident students.
    • There may be no exceptions to the dates above. We recommend that you check travel or vacation plans before you apply for Summer Housing.


Facilities

Furnishings in student rooms include a desk, study chair, chest of drawers, and bed for each occupant. Students are responsible for bringing their own linens. All buildings at Boston College, including the residence halls, are smoke free. The facilities also include a vending area and laundry room that accept either the Eagle-One Card or coins. Dining facilities are also available. No summer meal plan is available; however, you may find it convenient to add Dining and/or Eagle Bucks to your Eagle-One Card account.


Application Process

The Summer Internship Housing Application will be available via the Agora Portal beginning in mid-April. All students applying for Summer Internship Housing must use the Summer Employee Housing Application and confirm that they have read and agree to the Summer Housing Residence Agreement during the application process. The deadline to apply for summer internship housing is June 1, 2016.

Once your Summer Housing Application has been submitted, it will retain the status "Incomplete" until it has been processed by staff. Once it has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email. Application processing will not begin until Monday, May 2nd. In order for the application to be approved, you must have your employment verified by your employer.

Payments & Refunds

Bookings and associated charges will be created for all approved applications using the dates provided in the application; however, there will be no charge for housing prior to May 23rd. All fees will be charged directly to your student account. All charges are prorated, and a check-in prior to the approved date of arrival or a check-out after the approved date of departure will generate additional charges on your student account. No refunds or adjustments may be made for cancellations or stays shorter than those applied for unless you have canceled your application via My ResLife or have notified summer.housing@bc.edu prior to your approved date of arrival.
