Summer Employee Housing 1 & 2
- Refers to the period May 12 - August 1
- Application available via the AGORA Portal beginnning April 22 and are due by May 8.
- You may apply for Summer Employee Housing ONLY if you are a current BC undergraduate student or grdauting senior and are working at least 20 hours/week in a BC Departmental Office. We cannot house students who have jobs in the Boston area or work at BC less than 20 hours per week. Should you stop working on campus during the summer, you will need to move out of Summer Housing immediately.
- All BC Student Employees must have their campus employer complete an Employee Verification Form in order to have their application processed. This form is available only to Faculty and Staff under "Web Forms" within My ResLife accessible via the AGORA Portal.
- All students granted Summer Employee Housing must check out from their current residence and check-in to their new residence according to the Summer Housing Transition Schedule. An overnight extension slip will be emaild to you if required and you must post it on your door by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12th.
- Any student who does not have authorization, yet remains past 5:00 p.m. on May 12th will forfeit their housing assignment for the next eligible year and may receive a $200 late check-out fine.
- All students applying for Summer Session Housing must confirm that they have read and agree to the Summer Housing Residence Agreement before submitting a completed application form.
- Summer Employee Housing officially ends on August 1st. Please review and apply for End of Summer Extension Housing if you are required to work past August 1st. To be approved for Summer Employee Housing and End of Summer Extension Housing you must meet the qualifications below.
- You are required to fill out the online check-out form when you vacate your Summer Employee Housing. If you do not have access to a computer you must check-out at the Summer Welcome Center located in 110 St. Thomas More Hall. Improper/late check-out, failure to check-out, excessive trash or room damage will result in a fine and University Disciplinary action.
- Students staying for Summer Employee Housing will be housed in Fitzpatrick/Gonzaga Halls. There are no A/C rooms available for summer employees and all rooms are double occupancy. There will be no singles offered to Student employees. Should you feel that you need a single, or you believe that you will be unable to relocate on August 1st, you may be able to find a sublet that will better fulfill your needs. - Summer employees may only live with other summer employees. This means that you may not room with a friend who is taking summer classes. Academic students will be housed in different locations.
- The Summer Employee Housing room rate is:
$90.00/week for a double occupancy - All fees will be charged directly to your student account.
Summer Employee Housing 3
- Refers to the 4 week period between the end of Summer Employee Housing 2 (August 1) and the beginning of the Academic Year.
- This extension must be requested when applying for Summer Employee Housing. If you need to request housing for this period after you have submitted your Summer Employee Housing application, please e-mail summer@bc.edu.
- This housing is available only for those living in Summer Employee Housing. Students in Summer Session Housing may not apply for Summer Employee Housing 3.
- The cost of Summer Employee Housing 3 is $150/week for double occupancy in Edmond's Hall.
- If granted End of Summer Employee Housing 3, you will need to relocate to Edmond's Hall so that Fitzaga can be prepared for fall occupancy. If you cannot vacate or relocate on August 1st, you will not receive Summer Employee or Summer Session Housing. Also, you must be present to move from End of Summer Extension Housing to your fall placement on August 26th. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY. We recommend that you check with your family regarding travel or vacation plans before you apply for Summer Housing. Failure to vacate your Summer Housing placement by this date may result in fines and judicial action.
- Students who do not have an On-Campus Fall Assignment can only be accommodated in End of Summer Extension Housing until August 26. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. If you are living off campus for the fall semester, and have a lease that starts on September 1, Boston College CAN NOT house you until the start of your lease. This is due to the arrival of our Fall resident students and the need to prepare the halls.
